An Air Force of Zimbabwe AS332 Super Puma VIP transport helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff from Masvingo airport as it set out to collect President Emmerson Mnangagwa from a party event in Bikita, according to Pindula. The President was not on board. The Permanent Secretary for Information said there was an aviation incident involving one of the Air Force's helicopters and that there were no casualties; the government later denied reports that the pilots had died, ADF magazine reported. Civil aviation authorities were to investigate. The helicopter was left severely damaged.
