Description
A Sukhoi Su-30MKA of the Algerian Air Force crashed a few kilometres east of the village of Timokten, north of Aoulef in Adrar Province, seconds after taking off from Reggane air base on a routine training mission. One crew member was killed and the second ejected safely. The accident occurred at low altitude with full fuel tanks, leaving almost no time to react. It was the second Algerian Su-30 loss on record after a crash in Oum El Bouaghi Province in January 2020. Algeria operates one of the largest Su-30 fleets outside Russia and India.
