Republic of China Air Force F-16C/D Block 70 Delivered

Lockheed Martin handed over the first new-build F-16 Block 70 for Taiwan on 28 March 2025 at its Greenville, South Carolina, plant, in a ceremony attended by Taiwan's deputy defence minister and its representative to the United States. The aircraft, a two-seat F-16D with serial 6831, is the first of 66 F-16C/D Block 70s ordered in 2019 for about 8 billion US dollars. The jets are to equip the newly formed 7th Tactical Fighter Wing for the defence of eastern Taiwan. The Ministry of National Defense said it was working with the United States to keep production and deliveries on schedule; the first aircraft are expected in Taiwan in 2027.
