Description
An Antonov An-32 of the Indian Air Force was destroyed in a landing accident at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal. Although the aircraft was written off there were no fatalities among those on board. The An-32 remains the workhorse of Indian tactical airlift, particularly for supplying high-altitude posts along the northern and eastern frontiers, and Bagdogra is a key hub for operations into Sikkim and the north-east. India has been upgrading part of the fleet while seeking a medium transport replacement.
