Indian Air Force Mirage 2000H/I Shot down

Wreckage of an Indian Air Force Mirage 2000 was found at Wuyan in Pampore, Indian-administered Kashmir, about 130 km from the Pakistani border, on 7 May 2025, the opening night of Operation Sindoor. The Washington Post's visual investigation reported that independent experts identified an external fuel tank at the site as a Mirage 2000's. The French air force chief later told the Associated Press, in remarks carried by Al Jazeera, that he had seen evidence of a Mirage 2000 loss alongside a Rafale and a Sukhoi. India's Chief of Defence Staff told Bloomberg in May that aircraft had been lost, without giving numbers or types.
