Description
A Myanmar military jet disappeared from radar and lost communications on the night of 1 July 2025 during what the state-run Myanma Alinn called long-distance training, about 130 kilometres south-east of Naypyitaw, possibly because of a technical fault or bad weather, the Associated Press reported. The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force told the Associated Press it had shot the aircraft down during fighting near Hpasawng township in Kayah State and identified it as a two-seat FTC-2000G; according to Mizzima, a spokesperson for the group later attributed the crash to engine failure. The wreckage and the remains of both pilots were found on 3 July.
