Russian Naval Aviation Be-12 Damaged

On 21 September 2025 drones of the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence (HUR) special unit Prymary struck Kacha air base near Sevastopol in Crimea. Footage released by HUR shows impacts on two Be-12 amphibians, one carrying bort number 08, and on an Mi-8 helicopter. HUR said all three aircraft were destroyed, a claim The War Zone said could not be independently verified; it also noted that one Be-12 appeared to lack a propeller and may already have been withdrawn from use. The Be-12 fleet is small, so the loss of two airworthy aircraft would remove a large share of Russia's remaining amphibians. Oryx has not listed the aircraft.
