Turkish Air Force C-130J Ordered

The Turkish Ministry of National Defence confirmed the acquisition of 12 C-130J-30 Super Hercules airlifters retired from Royal Air Force service. The aircraft were handed to a British company for pre-delivery maintenance and modernisation ahead of phased induction into the Turkish Air Force. The purchase transforms Turkish tactical airlift, which had relied on ageing C-130B and C-130E models, one of which broke up in flight over the Georgia-Azerbaijan border in November 2025 killing 20. Turkey plans to integrate the fleet with locally developed mission systems.
