Description
The US Navy took delivery of its 350th MH-60R Seahawk, a milestone in a programme that has become the backbone of American carrier and surface-combatant rotary-wing aviation. The MH-60R performs anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and logistics missions from destroyers, cruisers and carriers, carrying dipping sonar, sonobuoys, torpedoes and Hellfire missiles. The Romeo variant replaced both the SH-60B and SH-60F in Navy service and has been widely exported. Deliveries to the US Navy have largely wound down as production shifts to foreign military sales customers.
