Description

A United States Air Force C-146A Wolfhound (serial 15-3086) struck a concrete road barrier while attempting to take off from a bypass road in Laoac, Pangasinan, Philippines, during a joint roadway-landing exercise on February 24. The aircraft, assigned to Air Force Special Operations Command, had successfully landed on the improvised strip but swerved during departure. All five crew members were injured, with two requiring hospitalization. The exercise marked the first highway landing operation in the Philippines and only the second in Asia. The aircraft sustained significant structural damage consistent with a write-off.
