Description
A second E-3 Sentry airborne early warning aircraft was damaged during the Iranian ballistic missile and one-way attack drone strike on Prince Sultan Air Base at Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. The same attack destroyed one E-3G outright along with a KC-135R and a KC-46A Pegasus. Congressional reporting on Operation Epic Fury later listed one Sentry destroyed and another damaged among 42 US aircraft damaged or destroyed during the campaign. At least 29 US service members were wounded across a week of strikes on the base. The damaged airframe was assessed as repairable and remained on the ramp pending inspection.
