Description
The second MC-55A Peregrine was formally accepted by the Australian Defence Force, having arrived at RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia on 12 March. The aircraft joins No. 10 Squadron alongside the first Peregrine delivered in January, leaving two more of the four-aircraft fleet to follow. Converted from Gulfstream G550 airframes by L3Harris, the Peregrine carries a sensitive signals intelligence and electronic warfare payload that Australia has deliberately kept classified. The pair gives the Royal Australian Air Force its first genuine standing electronic surveillance capability, closing a gap in Australian intelligence collection across the Indo-Pacific.
