Italian Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Destroyed

An Italian Air Force MQ-9 Reaper was destroyed on the ground at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait during Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on 15 March 2026. The same attack left two Italian Eurofighter Typhoons damaged by shrapnel and non-operational. It was the only non-US Reaper lost during the war and among the few coalition aircraft losses, Italy having deployed to the Gulf in a surveillance role rather than a strike one.
