United States Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Shot down

An MQ-9 Reaper was shot down over Shiraz on 2 April 2026. Iranian media released both the engagement sequence and imagery of the wreckage. The loss opened an unusually costly period for the type: US officials later confirmed that eight Reapers were lost between 1 and 9 April alone, taking the running total for the war to 24 airframes and roughly $720 million in hardware.
