United States Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Fleet Update

US officials confirmed that the Department of Defense lost eight MQ-9 Reapers in the Middle East between 1 and 9 April 2026, taking cumulative losses for the war to 24 airframes worth roughly $720 million. Three of those eight are recorded individually on 2, 5 and 6 April; this entry covers the remaining five, whose dates and circumstances were not broken out. Losses in early April were reported to be concentrated around Shiraz and the island of Kish.
