Peruvian Air Force C-27J Ordered

Peru's armed forces procurement agency ACFFAA awarded Leonardo a contract for a fifth C-27J Spartan on 4 May 2026, valued at about EUR 52 million, Infodefensa reported. It will be the country's first aircraft in the Next Generation configuration, with new avionics and aerodynamic improvements. Leonardo said the order, due for delivery to the Peruvian Air Force's Grupo Aéreo 8 in 2027, brought the number of C-27Js procured worldwide to 100, and that Peru's four earlier Spartans had flown almost 16,000 hours, including nearly 600 medical evacuation missions.
