Description
A Pakistan Air Force FT-7PG advanced jet trainer crashed in the Kamarmashani area near Mianwali, Punjab, on May 20, 2026, during a routine training sortie. The aircraft, a Chinese-origin advanced trainer variant of the J-7 fighter, experienced a technical malfunction that prompted both crew members to eject. Both pilots survived with injuries and no civilian casualties were reported. The crash occurred on the same day a K-8 Karakoram trainer also crashed near Mianwali, and one day after a JF-17 Thunder went down near Kamra, drawing attention to recurring technical issues with Chinese-origin aircraft in PAF service. A PAF investigation was ordered.
