Description
An MH-60T Jayhawk of Coast Guard Air Station Sitka crashed near Harbor Mountain on Baranof Island, a few miles outside Sitka, Alaska, during a training flight. The Coast Guard Arctic District said it was alerted at about 10:07 local time by the crew's personal locator beacons, and that Sitka fire and rescue teams reached the site roughly an hour later. According to the Coast Guard, all four crew members survived with minor injuries and were taken to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center. Air Station Kodiak repositioned aircraft and crews to cover Southeast Alaska while a formal investigation into the cause was opened.
