Description
On June 27, 2026, a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 was destroyed in a Russian Geran-4 jet-powered drone strike on Voznesensk Air Base in Mykolaiv Oblast, southern Ukraine. Reconnaissance reportedly detected two MiG-29s loaded with munitions preparing for takeoff; one was parked on the apron outside a hardened shelter and was struck and destroyed, with footage of the strike released by Russian sources. Russian sources claim a second MiG-29 being refueled inside the shelter was also destroyed, though this has not been independently confirmed. Separately, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the loss of a third MiG-29 over Poltava Oblast the same day.
