Voznesensk is a reserve air base of the Ukrainian Air Force located near Voznesensk in the Mykolaiv Oblast. The 115th Guards Assault Aviation Division arrived at the installation in May 1947 and remained there until its disbandment in August 1956. In 1988, the 642nd Guards Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment was redesignated as a Fighter Aviation Regiment and equipped with Mikoyan MiG-29 aircraft. At the time of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the unit was a component of the 5th Air Army.
