United States Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Shot down

The IRGC Aerospace Force shot down an MQ-9 Reaper over Khvormuj in Bushehr province on 7 July 2026. The loss came as the Islamabad Memorandum ceasefire unravelled: Iran struck three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz that week, the United States resumed strikes on Iranian territory, and the interim framework formally collapsed on 8 July. It was the first US aircraft lost of the renewed phase of the war.
