Russian Naval Aviation Su-24 Destroyed

Destroyed on the ground at Saky Air Base during an overnight Ukrainian drone strike on 22 August 2026, announced by Ukraine's president alongside video of the raid. Ukrainian forces said four pieces of airfield equipment and several drone control points were hit in the same attack; Russian authorities did not comment on the losses. Saky, at Novofedorivka in occupied Crimea, is home to the 43rd Independent Naval Attack Aviation Regiment of the Black Sea Fleet, which flies Su-24M and Su-24MR alongside Su-30SM. The base has been struck repeatedly since August 2022, when explosions destroyed or damaged several aircraft.
