Slovak Air Force S-70/UH-60M Delivered

Two Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawks, tail numbers 7469 and 7470, landed at Kuchyňa Air Base near Malacky on 25 August 2026 and were flown on to Prešov, home of the 51st Helicopter Wing and the only Slovak helicopter base. The Slovak Armed Forces announced the arrival on 31 August. The pair was ordered in 2024 for about 86 million euros and arrives in a special-operations configuration absent from earlier deliveries: a nose fairing for a gyro-stabilised electro-optical turret carrying day and night cameras, a laser rangefinder and a target designator. Slovakia now fields eleven UH-60M, with twelve ex-US Army UH-60L still to follow.
