Description
The first F-15EX Eagle II earmarked for permanent stationing in Japan left the St. Louis plant on 28 August 2026, the twenty-second airframe handed to the US Air Force. Serial 22-0022 first flew in primer on 4 August and again in full livery on 15 August before ferrying to Portland Air National Guard Base, Oregon, where the 142nd Wing is preparing it for the Pacific. It is destined for the 67th Fighter Squadron at Kadena Air Base, which is to receive 36 F-15EX in place of the F-15C/D fleet withdrawn from Okinawa. Arrivals at Kadena are scheduled from fiscal year 2027.
