Russian Air Force Mi-8/17/171 Destroyed

Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Taganrog-Central airfield in Rostov Oblast, about 40 km from the Ukrainian border, in the early hours of 8 September. Satellite imagery reviewed by open-source analysts and reported by Militarnyi and Kyiv Post showed an Mi-8 destroyed on the parking apron and an Mi-35 damaged nearby. Neither Ukraine's General Staff nor Russian authorities publicly confirmed the losses. Taganrog-Central hosts the 325th Aircraft Repair Plant, which overhauls military transport aircraft and Il-76 components, alongside a military transport aviation regiment, and has been hit repeatedly through 2026, including a further strike on 12 September that burned fuel storage.
