Montenegrin Air Force
The Montenegro Air Force, officially known as the Air Force of Montenegro, is the aerial warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of Montenegro. It was established on June 23, 2006, following the dissolution of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. Since its formation, the Montenegro Air Force has been responsible for maintaining the country's airspace sovereignty and providing air defense capabilities. The Air Force primarily operates from the two air bases, namely Golubovci Air Base and Željava Air Base. Its fleet consists of various aircraft, including fixed-wing fighters, transporters, and helicopters, procured from different sources, which include countries like Serbia, Russia, and the United States. The Montenegro Air Force has participated in several military exercises and international operations, primarily focused on peacekeeping activities. Additionally, it has collaborated with various NATO member states and allied forces to enhance interoperability and cooperation.
