Description

Casarsa della Delizia Air Base, also known as Aeroporto "Francesco Baracca", is an Italian military installation located in Casarsa della Delizia, in the Province of Pordenone, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Established in 1915, the facility was originally constructed to house dirigibles. Since 1976, the base has hosted the 5° Reggimento AVES "Rigel" of the Italian Army Aviation.

The base is operated by the Italian Army Aviation. The stationed 5° Reggimento AVES "Rigel" is organized into the 27° Gruppo Squadroni "Mercurio", the 49° Gruppo Squadroni "Capricorno", and the Gruppo Supporto "Lupo". Aviation elements at the installation operate AH-129D Mangusta attack helicopters and UH-90A (NH90 TTH) transport helicopters.
