Valcartier Heliport (2nd Canadian Division Support Base Valcartier (CFB Valcartier); full name 'Valcartier (W/C J.H.L. (Joe) Lecomte) Heliport')

Valcartier Heliport, formally designated Valcartier (W/C J.H.L. (Joe) Lecomte) Heliport, is located within the 2nd Canadian Division Support Base Valcartier (2 CDSB Valcartier) in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, 15 kilometers north-northwest of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Canadian Army base encompasses an area measuring 12 by 24 kilometers.

The installation was established in August 1914 as a military training camp for the mobilization of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I. During this time, the site also functioned as an internment camp. Following the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces in 1968, the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group was assigned to the garrison.

The base is operated by the Canadian Army and houses the 2nd Canadian Division, comprising the 2nd Canadian Division Support Group and the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group. Stationed units include the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalions of the Royal 22nd Regiment, the 5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada, the 12e Régiment blindé du Canada, and the 5 Combat Engineer Regiment. Additional stationed and affiliated units include the 5 Service Battalion, 5 Field Ambulance, 5 Military Police Platoon, 1 Dental Unit Detachment, and the Naval Fleet School (Quebec). The installation employs 6,200 military personnel and 1,500 civilians, and supports 9,000 affiliated military reservists.

Aviation operations at the heliport consist of the 430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron. Additional base infrastructure includes a Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) facility, the CI SQFT (Land Force Quebec Area Training Centre), the Myriam Bédard Biathlon Training Centre, and the Army Cadet Summer Training Centre Valcartier.
