Description
Guaraní Air Base is located in the municipality of Minga Guazú, 25 kilometers from Ciudad del Este. The facility was dedicated on 20 August 1993, established to replace the former Alejo García Airport which had been restricted by urban development.
The installation is the second largest international aviation facility in Paraguay. Historically, the site has hosted operations by Paraguayan Military Transport. The facility functions as a cargo hub for international imports from Asia and North America destined for the Ciudad del Este free trade zone.
