Description
Jaisalmer Airport is a domestic airport serving Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India, located 12.6 kilometers from the city center. It operates as a civil enclave on an Indian Air Force base. The airport has a single concrete runway measuring 2,743 meters in length. While it was not used for civil flights in 2015, services resumed in 2017 under the UDAN scheme. The Airports Authority of India completed construction of a new passenger terminal in March 2013, which is part of a civil enclave spread over 65 acres, including an apron for parking three Airbus A321 aircraft. The air base is part of the Indian Air Force's South Western Air Command.
