Description
Khanskaya is a Russian Aerospace Forces air base located northwest of Maykop, Russia. The airport was previously used for civil aviation until 2009. The base is home to the 761st Training Aviation Regiment, which operates Aero L-39C Albatros aircraft under the 783rd Aviation Training Centre for the Training of Flight Personnel. This regiment relocated to Khanskaya in 1991. As of October 2024, the 272nd Training Aviation Regiment was also reportedly stationed at Khanskaya air base. On October 10, 2024, a Ukrainian drone attack targeted the air base, resulting in a fire.
