Description

Marcona Naval Air Base, also known as San Juan de Marcona Airport, is located in the desert northeast of San Juan de Marcona, the capital of the Ica Region of Peru. The installation maintains an active status and supports both military and civil aviation operations.

The military component is operated by the Peruvian Naval Aviation (Fuerza de Aviación Naval). Marcona functions as one of three operating bases for the naval aviation branch, alongside installations in Lima-Callao and Pucallpa. Peruvian Naval Aviation squadrons are distributed across these three facilities.

Navigational infrastructure supporting the airfield includes the San Juan de Marcona VOR-DME, positioned north-northeast of the installation.
