Description

Santahamina is an island and neighborhood located in eastern Helsinki, Finland. The site functions as a military base with restricted access.

Current operations include housing the Guard Jaeger Regiment and the Finnish National Defence University (NDU). Physical access to the installation is provided via the Hevossalmi bridge and road.

Infrastructure on the island includes the landfall point for the C-Lion1 undersea cable. Prior to 2007, the site contained a mediumwave broadcasting station operated by Yle, which broadcast on 558 kHz with a power of 100 kW.
