Description

Shangqiu Airport, also known as Shangqiu Air Base, is a military air base located in Guantang Township, Liangyuan District, 16 kilometers west of Shangqiu city center in China's Henan Province. The airport was constructed in the 1930s and was historically known as Gui'de Airbase. It played a role in national defense operations during the Sino-Japanese War. During March-April 1938, the Nationalist Air Force of China's 3rd and 4th Fighter-Attack Groups were stationed at Gui'de Airbase to provide ground support for the Battle of Taierzhuang.
