Udhampur AFS

Udhampur Air Force Station (ICAO: VIUM) is an Indian Air Force installation at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, India, in territory disputed between India and Pakistan. The town is also the headquarters of the Indian Army's Northern Command, placing the airfield adjacent to the principal ground command responsible for the northern sector.

The station hosts No. 153 Helicopter Unit of the Indian Air Force, supporting rotary-wing operations in the Jammu region and the surrounding mountainous terrain. The unit operated in support of Indian forces during the 1999 Kargil War; while assigned to it, Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena became the first female IAF officer to fly in that conflict.

The airfield has a single concrete runway oriented 18/36. Facilities support helicopter operations and associated maintenance and logistics functions for the Northern Command area of responsibility.

During the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict, the base was reported as a target of Pakistani strikes on 10 May 2025. The Indian military confirmed the death of one soldier, a medical assistant, at the station during the attack.
