Description
Udhampur Air Force Station is an Indian Air Force base located in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It serves as the headquarters of the Indian Army's Northern Command. The base is home to No. 153 Helicopter Unit of the Indian Air Force. During the Kargil War, Gunjan Saxena, assigned to this unit, became the first female officer of the IAF to fly in the conflict. The base has one runway with a concrete surface.
