Description
The FT-1 is a precision-guided munition belonging to the Fei Teng series. The system was first publicly revealed at the 2006 Zhuhai Airshow.
The weapon consists of a satellite and inertial navigation bomb kit featuring strap-on strakes. Its guidance package combines an inertial navigation system with satellite updates, compatible with the BeiDou, GPS, and GLONASS constellations. The FT-1 variant is configured with cruciform strakes. In terms of performance, the system is comparable to the GBU-32 JDAM.
The munition entered service in 2006. It is operated by the People's Liberation Army Air Force and the People's Liberation Army Navy Air Force.
