Unidentified drones, suspected at the time of being Russian, were reported over Danish airspace near Copenhagen Airport on 22 September, with further sightings near other Danish airports over the following days and parallel reports over Norwegian airports. The events opened the wave of European drone sightings that ran through late 2025. They are logged here with the caveat that much of that wave did not survive investigation: Danish police closed a nine-month inquiry in June 2026 without confirming a single drone over Copenhagen Airport.
An Italian Eurofighter on NATO Baltic Air Policing duty destroyed an unidentified drone over eastern Latvia before dawn on 14 August, the second time the alliance's quick-reaction force has shot one down over the country this year.
