Romania's Ministry of National Defence said its radar tracked an aerial target north of Chilia Veche, over Ukrainian territory, on the evening of 27 September 2026, before it entered national airspace through the Ceatalchioi area. According to the ministry, the target flew along the border for about ten minutes before the radar signal was lost near Somova, in Tulcea County. Two Romanian F-16s took off from the 86th Air Base at Borcea, and a RO-Alert warning went out for Tulcea County at 20:35; the alert ended at 22:05. The ministry did not state the drone's origin.
