Mount Carmel Naval Base (Betzet)

Mount Carmel Naval Base, officially Betzet and formerly Yahsan, is the Israeli Navy's main logistics base. It stands at the HaHotrim camp, south of Mount Carmel in northern Israel, and handles the navy's logistics, equipment and transportation.

The base procures, maintains and supplies the navy's equipment and materials on a continuing basis and supports their operational use. It also arranges the materials needed for shipbuilding and keeps the accounts for the navy's weapons and ammunition. The MFTAH Unit is garrisoned on the base.

The Israeli Naval Shipyards run an engine workshop on the base, where staff carry out ship repairs. The HaHotrim camp also houses the Haifa District headquarters of the Home Front Command.

In the navy's early years the base stood at the Kishon camp. Its gradual relocation to the HaHotrim camp began on 6 July 1999.
