Ukraine Navy Donbas Destroyed

Destroyed during the Siege of Mariupol, with satellite imagery published on 6 April 2022 showing the vessel engulfed in heavy smoke at the port. The Ukrainian Defence Ministry confirmed her loss on 16 April, attributing it to Russian artillery fire. A Project 304 (Amur-class) former Soviet repair ship converted to a command vessel of the Ukrainian Navy 9th Division, Donbas had been stationed at Mariupol. Her crew reportedly removed DShK machine guns from the ship and deployed them at defensive positions during the siege.
