South Korea Navy ROKS Jeongjo the Great Delivered

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries delivered the destroyer Jeongjo the Great (DDG-995) to the Republic of Korea Navy on 27 November 2024 at its Ulsan headquarters, Naval News reported. The 8,200-tonne ship is the first of the KDX-III Batch-II class and South Korea's fourth domestically designed and built Aegis destroyer, contracted with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration in 2019. She carries the latest Aegis combat system with a multifunction phased-array radar and ballistic missile interceptors, is powered by four gas turbines with a hybrid electric drive, and can embark MH-60R helicopters. The ship passed about 550 evaluations before delivery, according to the same report.
