Syria Navy Osa-class Sunk

At least six Osa-class missile boats of the Syrian Arab Navy were sunk at the port of Latakia on the night of 9 December 2024 in a strike by the Israeli Navy, according to Naval News and The War Zone, whose imagery showed the boats' Styx missile launchers protruding above the water. The Israel Defense Forces said the operation aimed to keep the former regime's vessels from falling into the hands of armed groups after the collapse of the Assad government. The Soviet-built Osa II boats formed the core of Syria's missile-boat force.
