Nigeria Navy NNS Ikogosi Commissioned

NNS Ikogosi (P165), a 37-metre Chamsuri-class patrol vessel donated by South Korea, was commissioned into the Nigerian Navy on 31 May 2025 during the service's 69th founding-anniversary ceremony, led by President Bola Tinubu, alongside two other patrol boats -- NNS Faro and NNS Shere, whose origin was not disclosed by the Nigerian government -- and three AW109 Trekker helicopters. The additions are part of a broader fleet-recapitalisation drive that also includes Turkish- and Chinese-built patrol boats expected later the same year.
