Description
The Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine USS Helena (SSN-725) was decommissioned on July 25, 2025, at the Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport, Washington, after 38 years of service. Commissioned in 1987, Helena completed numerous deployments including operations in the Western Pacific and the Middle East. The submarine is scheduled for disposal through the Navy Ship-Submarine Recycling Program at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
