Peru Navy BAP Paita Commissioned

The multipurpose ship BAP Paita (AMP-157) was delivered and commissioned into the Peruvian Navy at the Callao Naval Base on 27 July 2025, in a ceremony led by the Minister of Defence, Infodefensa and Zona Militar reported. Sister ship of BAP Pisco, commissioned in 2018, she was built entirely by the SIMA shipyard in Callao under a partnership with South Korea's Dae Sun Shipbuilding. The Makassar-class landing platform dock carries troops, armoured vehicles and cargo, operates landing craft and helicopters, and supports humanitarian missions.
