Description
The guided-missile destroyer collided with the fast combat support ship USNS Supply (T-AOE 6) during an underway replenishment on 12 February 2026 in waters under U.S. Southern Command, which did not disclose the exact position. Two personnel across the two ships suffered minor injuries and both vessels were able to continue sailing safely. The destroyer's commanding officer was relieved on 23 February over a loss of confidence in their ability to command. On 15 April the Navy awarded a $183 million contract to repair the damage sustained by Truxtun, a Flight IIA hull commissioned in 2009.
