Description
The U.S. Navy accepted delivery of the future USS Patrick Gallagher (DDG-127) on 28 May 2026, more than two months ahead of schedule following exceptional builder's sea trials at Bath Iron Works, Maine. She is the 77th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer transferred to the fleet and the final Flight IIA hull, marking the end of the AN/SPY-1D radar and Aegis Flight IIA production generation. The ship is capable of ballistic missile defense, air defense, strike warfare, and anti-submarine operations. Commissioning will follow at a later date.
