United States Navy USS Georgia Retired

Returned to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay on 27 July 2026 from her final patrol and formally began inactivation on 31 July, ending 42 years of service. Georgia is the first of the U.S. Navy's four Ohio-class guided-missile submarines to leave the operational fleet, a drawdown that strips 154 Tomahawk tubes per hull from the force. Commissioned in 1984 as a ballistic missile submarine, she was converted to the SSGN configuration between 2003 and 2008 for cruise-missile strike and special operations support. The boat remains at Kings Bay before shifting homeport to Norfolk Naval Shipyard for inactivation work in 2027.
