Description
The DGA delivered the Patrouilleur Outre-mer (POM) Jean Tranape (P782) to the French Navy at Nouméa, New Caledonia, on 10 July 2026, the Ministry of the Armed Forces announced. She is the fourth of six ocean-going patrol vessels ordered under the 2019-2025 military programming law to renew the Navy's sovereignty and maritime-protection capabilities in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Built by Socarenam, the POMs displace about 1,300 tonnes and operate a small remotely piloted aircraft.
