Description
Decommissioned at Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, her homeport, on 30 September 2026, the U.S. Navy said, after 34 years of commissioned service. Built by Bath Iron Works and commissioned on 18 July 1992 as the 21st Ticonderoga-class cruiser, Shiloh fired Tomahawk land-attack missiles into Iraq during Operation Desert Strike in 1996, supported tsunami relief off Aceh in 2005 and spent 17 years forward-deployed at Yokosuka before moving to Pearl Harbor in 2023. According to the Navy, she will be transferred to the Naval Inactive Ships Maintenance Facility at Bremerton as a logistics support asset, part of the fiscal 2026 cruiser inactivations.
